After suffering from an extremely swollen leg, this patient’s toes have started to turn black and showing signs of gangrene.

Lack of blood circulation to tissue can cause it to die. The tissue turns black and can continue to spread if circulation is not improved in the area.

I am really concerned for this patient and following up with him regularly. He is waiting to have a surgery performed to improve the circulation of his right leg which will help minimize the change of a possible amputation of his toes, foot or even leg.

Love,

The Toe Bro

I am a Registered Nurse at a large hospital in the US and see first hand these type situations. There are times when people are discharged from the hospital and then quickly develop new or worsening problems. People cannot stay in the hospital forever. Hospitals are for acute problems and then the patients need to get follow up care in the outpatient setting for chronic issues. Some people automatically think the hospital is wrong or negligent but you need to to have all the facts and the proper medical training to understand them before making judgement. I don't have all the facts and cannot make judgement either. I hope this gentleman continues to stay on top of his medical issues and seeks appropriate care. I am glad that he saw you. I wish him the best of luck! ; )

I received this notice on your channel and decided to watch it. I'm a type 2 diabetic and hate this disease with a passion. I have numerous medical issues along with diabetes. My husband always checks my feet and will moisturize them for me since I have a hard time doing so. My greatest fear is amputation. I am now a new subscriber. I love how you interact with your patients so kind with respect and dignity. I wish more doctors were like you.

Some of these patients keep talking and don't seem to grasp how severe this is.

Toe Bros perhaps you could take a photograph of the feet.
Even a Polaroid if they still make them……
That at least together with your letter may get the Specialists attention.
Old school I know but immediate.

I had a friend who took in a homeless person in who had visited her church. He was a nice old man, sweet is what others said. She had spare rooms and felt the Lord telling her to take him in. She brought him to her home. She offered to let him have a shower while she made some dinner.

After the shower he said his toe nails needed trimming. She offered to cut his nails. As she was trimming the nails she noticed the smell was bad, as decaying flesh. As she trimmed away she noticed the toes were black. As she trimmed one of the toes came off into her hand. The man who was talking said nothing.. he never felt his toe come off. She was so sick for this poor man.

The necrose should be trimmed and clean . It eats the fresh flesh if you just let it be..
